Just the 2 of us

Through the wonderful world of Facebook, I've been in touch with an old old friend. Her not old, our friendship just goes way back to middle school days! Therefore the discripition of her and I deserves a double "old" prefix. Not only did we attend the same middle and high school, we cheered together and worked as servers together for many years! Anywho, her name is Amanda Burgess and she took our pictures today while in town for the holidays! Trav and I thought "Hey, we could use some pictures since the last ones we took were 5 years ago"...so we did just that! This is one she sent me via FB, more to come...Hope you all had a Merry Christmas and will have a fabulous New Year! Can you believe it's almost 2010!! Geesh...time flies!!

Happy Halloween!

Halloween, my office had a pumpkin carving contest. Our patients voted on their favorite, the winner got movie passes. Crystal and I decided prior to the contest if either of us won we'd take each other to the movie. Good thing because she beat my pumpkin 48-29. I apparently need therapy because my pumpkin's a little on the violent side, her's was just pure genius with the braces! I was a proud friend though because we carved our pumpkins together! Today we dressed up. You'll see why all the young teenage patients LOVE Dr. Chris Kelson, he's part vampire as well as an Orthodontist! Enjoy and Happy Halloween!

Crystal, September and I had a fun time! Travis came with us in the morning to see the flyover planes and to see us off. Here are some pictures at our finest moments:)

'Tis the Season...

I frequent craigslist a lot, looking at items for sale, the freaks seeking other freaks and the one and only wanted section. Last week, I was perusing through the wanted section and came upon the title, Will Pay For Spiders. I clicked on the headline with the curiosity of why anyone would want spiders, and why they'd pay for the nasty things we all are quick to squish, stomp on and flush. Long story short, I am now Chad's go to spider girl (with Travis as my assistant spider hunter) Chad is a professor in Las Vegas and pays $3 per poisonous spider (Black Widows, Hobos and Brown Recluses) He also pays $1 per non poisinous spider. Living on 2 1/2 acres I thought Cha Ching baby!!

My spider catching equipment includes:
-small baby food jar to ship the nasty things in
-12 inch tweezers
-gloves
-bug spray
-rubbing alcohol
-flash light

So, I called my grandma to get "spider catching tips" They are nocturnal but you can find them under plants in your gardens and flower beds. Travis sprays the spiders and I put them into the baby food jar with the rubbing alcohol to preserve them. They have to have all their legs, abdomens and parts entact. I of course have a scream fest when picking them up but must say I do have an eye for the little guys now. You can see me at night running around our house with a flash light. I come inside and scream "I got one" if Trav's out of order to help, my dad's a great spider catching assistant too. We sent Chad about 30 of them yesterday. He says to send him thousands if we can, so we'll see how it goes. My mom says I have too much time on my hands and need a baby...hmmm.

All Play and No Work:)

Couple of weeks ago we had a "play day" instead of seeing patients for the day. Dr. Paul Kelson and Dr. Chris Kelson took us girls to breakfast @ Sunrise Cafe and then we went bowling for the afternoon. We decided we need to do this more often. We have a lot of fun together!

Dreads, Drums, and a Little Pit Hair=Good Times!

Boise hosts an annual Hyde Park Festival and it's a MUST attend event. I proceeded to put on my Hyde Park Festival best which included a long skirt, sandals and the notorious LC side braid and headed down to join the best of Boise! At this event not only do you get to enjoy fabulous greasy food, free music and an abundance of vendors selling hulla hoops to spoon rings and hookah pipes, yes I know. I attend due to the amounts of people that come out of the wood works to greet everyone with free love, peace, and a new type of dancing you'd have to be under the influence to master. I tried to get my groove on last night and decided too many years of sharp moves in cheerleading has tainted my chances of "free movement dancing":) I tried to video the best dancers we were watching with no such luck. I'm putting that in the suggestion box for next year. A hippie dance off...yes let's.

Viva Las Vegas

We just got back from Vegas with a party of eight and had a blast. It was fun to see our friends from St. George, TJ and Soph and Andrea flew in from Portland to party hardy too! We did what everyone does in Vegas, shopped, people watched, ate and attended incredible shows. We saw the Lion King and the Phantom of the Opera, AMAZING. We also went to the Body Works exhibit. We were all amazed looking at the bodies and the parts but it was fun to watch Travs eyes get big. He loves the profession he's studying. The exhibit had all stages of a fetus from 4 to 38 weeks and it was incredibile to see the growth of the little babies. Currently Trav's in the OB rotation and was in the nursery yesterday. Let's just say, he's ready. That's a whole different post though. Moving on. We had so much fun seeing each other for five days! Now back to work and school.

Run Half Marathon...Check

I don't know if anyone else has a "Bucket List", but I've been thinking the past couple of months...what would consist of my so called "Bucket List?" First, is to see the broadway musical "The Lion King" it was on Oprah's, so it's definitely on mine!! Lion King Musical...Check, on September 6th I'll be singing the circle of life at the top of my lungs. So, I go to the gym 4-5 times a week and have done so for the past I duh no year or more? So, my second task on the BL, run 1/2 marathon. It makes my stomach hurt just thinking about it. I'll be running the Prison Break Half Marathon the end of October. To achieve this, I've been training for a couple of weeks now and I'm not going to lie, I enjoy it! I used to loath running! You can catch me working out on the eliptical, the bike, attending cycle classes, power pump classes, you name it, I'm there. I've got the training schedule from my good friend Angie and I'm off!!! Well anyways, I challenge you guys to try the Bucket List thing, you'll be surprised what you can do and accomplish when you try something new:)

We Think Your Tractor's SEXY!! Vote for us!!

Hello friends! So, I've been slacking on my blogging skills. I'll try to retrieve my pictures on our broken camera soon to give you a Henderson update. Well, this past weekend my best buds and mom entered the Kenny Chesney concert contest. I got the picture from my friends camera and this is the picture that is currently posted on our country station's website. A bunch of people have entered hoping to win the sand bar tickets to the Kenny Chesney concert and a chance to meet the man himself. We've been to his concert the past 3 years and made these t-shirts for last years concert. He puts on the best show! I would love it if you guys would vote for our picture on www.KIZN.com. The first round of voting starts this Monday, June 29th until Friday July 3rd. This narrows the contest to 10 finalists, and the final round of voting begins July 6th until July 12th. The winning picture will be announced on July 14th!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Blog you later;)

Go Fly a Kite

Today was crazy windy, so we busted out the kite after dinner with fam. This kite is not your average sized kite, it's GINORMOUS. Travis and dad got it up in the sky and we all ooh'd and ahh'd then looked around at each other and said, "Now what?" Travis told me to take it from him, failing to tell me to hold tight. He made it look so easy, it about took my arm off! What the heck kind of devil kite is this?!!!
