1 Month Old Today!!

Maddox Boyd you're 1 whole big month old today!! We love you so much peanut, it's unrreal!! As of now you just slept through the night with a whooping 7 hour stretch!! I woke up at 5 am to check on you to make sure you were still breathing, because that's what moms do I guess, haha!! You're currently sleeping tummy to chest on me. I just recently found out this is one of your favorite positions to be. I'm assuming you like mommy's heartbeat, that's what you heard for 9 months while baking. At 1 month of age, you like to hold your little head up and show me you're getting stronger everyday. You're such a talker when you eat, holy cow!! You love the blondes, staring at your Auntie Keri, Krechelle, Megan and Crystal like they're your girlfriends when they hold you! I turn up the music on our tv and we sing and dance and you love that. The other day Adam Lambert was on, mommy's favorite!! At night we take the lotion and massage and rub your arms and legs. You stretch and flex them to the sky. You have the most beautiful feet like your daddy with high girly arches not flat feet like mommy!! You love to talk and smile, you're a little ham. You're starting to "fill out", mommy's milk seems to be doing the trick. You HATE the booger sucker thing, you scream as if I were chopping your arm off!! I on the other hand love to use it, such a wonderful invention!! When you sneeze it's usually followed with a gag and a cough, so cute. You love bath time followed by the blow dryer on your body. You make this cute fishy face were you pucker your lips out, so funny!! You still love me to sing to you. We've expanded our song choices to You are my Sunshine and Head Shoulders Knees and Toes. I'm so excited to see you grow, I love you to the moon little man!! xo

A Little Maddox Update

Maddox will be 1 month old this Thursday, wow time flies!! I would've said it wasn't flying at one of our 4 am feedings, haha!! He's a GREAT baby, hands down he is his daddy through and through. Still sleeping 5-6 hours at night in his crib and occasionally in his swing if he doesn't go right to sleep and needs the entertainment. He only cries when his tummy hurts and when he's hungry. I never know if he has a dirty diaper until I check it, that doesn't bug the kid to sit in his number 1's and 2's. He's such an angel I just know when our little girl comes along she's going to be hell-on-wheels and have quite the TUDE!! Anyways, he had his first bath on Valentine's day after our family date at a sushi joint. Yes, almost one month old and it finally happened!! It made me nervous with his belly button thingy and then one week later he was circumsized so we postponed it even later. He LOVED the bath, it was adorable. We got all 10 min of footage on our video camera, I know right, we went a little overboard!! He then enjoyed the warm dryer to his little body followed by the lotion rub down, ooing and cooing the whole time!! Maddox has also been around town trying his tastes at Chili's, Costa Vida, Fresh off the Hook, Pinnacle Sports Bar and Grill, Olive Garden, IOU Sushi and Sunrise Cafe. His tummy doesn't agree with anything spicy, sad day for mommy :(

Our New Life Together as 3

I still can't grasp that we're parents to this little guy!! It's so surreal going from you and your husband to adding a human being into the mix that you're in charge of!! He's a super good baby, sleeping 5-6 hours in the night time, can I get a hallelujah. There have been 2 nights that have been hellish, with him not going to sleep until 3am and one night at 5am. Both those nights he had a tummy ache and I'm trying to rule out if any of it had to do with what I ate or drank that day. Maybe my diet coke? Hmm, still puzzled about that one. He still gets the hiccups like crazy, he got them 5+ times a day in the womb. The first week I had a couple of days where I was "weepy" that wasn't fun!! One of those days was when the guy on American Idol never left his fiance's side after that horrible car crash...let's just say I had a bloody I-can't-even-breath meltdown!! I was laughing and weeping all in unison because I knew how ridiculous I was being, and couldn't help it!! This week is better and I'm off the baby blues boat, woot woot!! I love to sing to him, even though I can't sing. His favorite song, ok so maybe it's my favorite song, is Baby Beluga. So corny but so cute :D I've attached it for your listening enjoyment!!

No Words...

I'm so in love over here, there are no words to describe the feeling I have for my little Maddox Boyd. I always would read new moms writing about the love they have for their newborns and I would try to imagine it and never could quite grasp the magnitude of love they wrote about until now. Travis and I are so amazed by this little blessing that joined our family on Jan 20th at 7:51am. Maddox was 6 lbs 4oz 20 1/2 inches long. His hands and feet are GIANT and his limbs go on for days!! The running joke is he'll be palming a basketball by next week :D Travis and I  pulled out pictures of ourselves when we were newborns and concluded he is a spitting image of Travis but with his mamas eyes:)

Bags are Packed and His Room is Done...finally :D

Well, it's almost "go time" my hospital bags are packed!! I have one more full day to myself, ahhh!! Maddox's room is finally done, with the exception of a pretty cool light fixture I bought off of craigslist last night my dad is going to hang:D This is his room "Rock N' Roll" with some added monster flair:) So, my best friend Amber and her husband Justin made Maddox a blanket, well Amber made it,  kudos to Justin for picking out the fabric!! They gave it to us after we found out we were having a boy:) it's on the rocking chair in the picture!! Since day one I've looked and looked EVERYWHERE for a boy crib set I loved or even liked for that matter!! They just don't make them as cute for stinky boys, ya know!!?? Soo, I knew I had to enlist some of my troops, who love us, to make his room happen:) A HUGE thank you to my Aunt Michelle who made his comforter, so cute!! My mother in law, Mardell, who made his bumpers, crib sheet, bed skirt, draps and changing pad cover!! There is no way I could have done it!! I'm thankful for their skills that pay the bills, haha, they did such an incredible job!! If you know me, you know I'm the QUEEN of Craigslist and garage sales...love em!! (someday I'll take pictures of my house to show my other great finds) Maddox's crib, changing table and rocker are second hand. We had the rocker reupholstered. The mobile is also second hand, we spray painted it and I attached an old outside yard wind twirly thing a ma gig that we spray painted as well. I wrapped it with wire and beaded the heck out of it to make it "funky" That's as crafty as it gets from me folks:) The shelf is second hand as well, we painted and stuck some fun knobby things on it. Oh I also "white washed" those twig things that were hanging out in my garage, as well as some of the baskets for a pop of color :D  There ya have it, he's going to come out wearing guyliner like Adam Lambert, haha :D

Christmas and a Baby in the Oven :D

We had a wonderful Christmas this year, in the back of our minds always thinking it'll be the last Christmas alone as a couple, yikes!! We've been married for over 5 1/2 years so we're ready right?! Two of my best friends made it to town so we got the WHOLE gang together, including Miss Harper Blair, for a party at our house!! Complete with eating, a gift exchange and some Wii dancing. I myself was shaking my big pregnant J-Lo :D Who needs an eliptical when you have that game, geez!!

I had my 36 week appointment today and we found out Maddox is breech, little stinker. Apparently 5% of babies don't flip before they're due to come. Sooo, they sent me to the hospital today and I was hooked up to a stress test for awhile. He's doing swell in there, his face is just wedged into my right rib cage. Makes sense, I'm ALWAYS leaning to the left trying to get into a comfortable position. Anyways, on Thursday they're doing a procedure called an external cephalic version. Translation, they're going to "drug" my uterus and the Dr's going to try and flip him like he's frickin Houdini. Sooo, if this "trick" is successful, great lets have the baby the good old fashion way!! If not, a scheduled c-section in 3 weeks!! That's if he doesn't rupture my "bag-o-water" in the process or if Maddox's little heart rate decelerates and doesn't go back to the normal rate. Then, we'll see you on Thursday Maddox!! Oh and just for your information, his room is STILL not finished. Let me just tell you I'm the biggest procrastinator in the world, ya think?! Haha!! Here are some pictures of our festivites. Wish us luck:D

Ready or Not He's Coming Soooon!!

Well here we are almost 33 weeks...I'm feeling a little nervous because I can now say I'm due next month, YIKES!! We had a little photo op with my belly, I've been bad at taking pictures, shocking I know!! We purchased a camera not too long ago and were giving it a "whirl" Maddox's room is not even close to being done, I should post a picture of that. You can't even step foot into his room, it's PACKED from floor to ceiling with baby shower gifts and clothes. Christmas break is when we're taking that project on, I'll post pics of his nursery then:D I'm starting to get uncomfortable at work these days. The Dr I work for took it upon himself to tie my shoe the other day, he said "Don't worry, I got it" and proceeded to tie it:) so cute! I just read in my 33 week e-mail that you'll start to retain water...well hell, tell me about it!! Haha, I'm getting the pregnancy face, no bueno!! I'm still wearing heels everywhere I go, my OB told me I should probably "get off the heels" no such thing buddy, sorry:( Maddox got the hiccups a couple of weeks ago, I was confused until I realized he wasn't just hitting me in the same spot for 2 min. straight, soo cute!! I can't stop buying clothes for the little guy!! Travis just shakes his head when the Fed-Ex man rolls up. He's got leg warmers, ties and bow ties to last him a lifetime!!  Here's some proof of the belly:D Merry Christmas everyone!!

Maddox's Debute:D

Here we are at 21 weeks in front of my lovely white trash fence, don't you love it;D Finally found our camera in a box and took a picture of the guy! We're so excited to have a stinky little boy, he's got quite the wardrobe already, complete with skulls, guitars and graffiti. Wait till you see his room...we're going to be busy little bees for awhile. So far I haven't felt him kick, unless it is him and I've been thinking it's gas! I'm LOVING fried foods, cheeseburgers, and I drink vinaigrette but the spoonfuls:D Maddox is going to be pickled by the time he's done cooking in there:) Working out has been on the back burner, bad idea, but there's sooo much to do on the house...speaking of, the house update is, we're still unpacking, one day at a time!! We love our little Nampa casa, I'll post pictures soon:)
